WE ARE THE SSP EARLY LEARNING ADVISORY COUNCIL

also known as ELAC

About Us

The SSP Early Learning Advisory Council is made up of Early Learning parents, staff, and community members. Our mission is to support the Early Learning programs by advocating for funding, raising awareness of our programs, and by creating a strong community base for our children.

-We run two main fundraisers: Gerten's plant sale and the Papa Murphy's coupon cards. These help us fund educational items for our classrooms. This takes up the most time commitment for our members. Each member can expect to contribute at least 3 hours of volunteer time per fundraiser, totaling 6 hours or so per school year.

-We work closely with the SSP educational administration to assist with curriculum advise as needed.

-We visit the state capitol each year in April during the week of the child to touch base with our local representatives. This is an amazing opportunity for us to advocate for any funding that may be needed. It is also a great way for our younger learners to communicate the effectiveness of our programs firsthand.

Help bring our community of young learners together! Would you like to join us? Get in touch today!
We meet the third Wednesday of every month at the SSP Family Education Center building and free childcare is included. We meet via Zoom as needed! No meeting in December or over the Summer months.

"I brought both of my children to ECFE. They are now 9 and 14. Our moms group from my oldest childs class still gets together .The class is great for social interaction between children and adults. Great way to meet others and transition your child into a group setting. Eventually, you will do separate rooms which is a great transition for prek/kindergarten. Our routine was...arrive, sing a hello song, play, do a craft, play, teacher reads a story, sing goodbye. Then when you separate when they get to about 2yrs. Old, the moms will stay for hello and then split to a parent group where you talk about concerns and great parenting topics while the kids play and socialize, have snack. It's so great!" -Rachael Salvaggio Hundley
